How is an RGN different from a lowboy trailer?

An RGN and a lowboy are related, but the terms describe different trailer features. A lowboy refers to a trailer with a low main deck designed to help reduce loaded height, while an RGN, or removable gooseneck trailer, has a detachable front neck that can allow compatible machinery to drive onto the deck from the front. Many RGN trailers are also lowboy-style trailers, so shippers should compare the actual deck height, capacity, axle configuration, equipment dimensions, and loading method rather than relying on the trailer name alone.
