What is flatbed logistics?

Flatbed logistics is the planning and transportation of freight using open-deck trailers that allow cargo to be loaded from the side, rear, or top. It is commonly used for machinery, steel, construction materials, agricultural equipment, and oversized or irregular freight that may not fit inside an enclosed trailer. Freight dimensions, weight, loading method, securement requirements, and trailer type all help determine how a flatbed shipment should be planned.
