Why do wind turbine loads need route planning?

Wind turbine components can exceed normal freight dimensions, and long components can create turning and clearance issues that are not obvious from highway mileage alone. Route planning may need to review intersections, roadway width, bridges, overhead clearance, construction, permit restrictions, and access to the final project site.
