Van Driver - Lamont 'Monty' Baity

Monty received a nomination this month for attending the September Safety Meeting and participating in sharing his ideas and insights on the road.

Monty's efforts to stay safe behind the wheel do not go unnoticed, especially with a FLAWLESS Safety Rating Score. What a role model!

Monty is a Buchanan rehire that has been with us for just over a year. When asked why he enjoys his time at Buchanan, Monty says

"I like the people, the planners, and dispatchers. I just like how Buchanan does things."

Monty is truly a shining example of what the Safety-First September award was all about.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping yourself and those around you safe.

Buchanan will be donating $50 in your name to your chosen charity of Truckstop Ministries.

Open Deck Driver - Nick Lillie

Nick was nominated this month for being a stellar driver. He is always on time, great with our customers, and a joy to work with.

When Nick is responsible for a load, his driver manager knows it will be taken care of with safety and efficiency in mind, the customer will be happy, and paperwork will be turned in ASAP.

Nick has been an Owner Operator with Buchanan since 2016. When asked why he enjoys working with Buchanan, he says:

“Everyone is pretty easy to deal with, and the fact they know my name is important. I don’t want to be a number.”

Thank you, Nick, for being a great example of a Safety-First Driver!

It is a pleasure to know you have trusted Buchanan for five years to further your driving career.

Buchanan will donate $50 in your name to your chosen charity of The American Cancer Society.

Hauling (Frontline) - Johnny Strawser

Johnny received a nomination this month for always being extremely helpful and having a keen eye for detail.

He helped move a couple of drivers around, so we could still pick up a good-paying load. He was instrumental in assisting with getting the answer to a difficult situation. Johnny also jumped right in to help train 7 on/7 off people, takes logistics calls, and tries to help instead of just transferring them, and he's always willing to golf!

Johnny has worked with Buchanan for over three years and, when asked why he enjoys it here, writes:

"I really enjoy working at Buchanan because of all the hard-working and dedicated people within all the Buchanan offices. Becky and Geary set the high standard to work hard, treat people respectfully, and enjoy our time while at work. I've formed a great deal of appreciation for my coworkers, and I hope to continue these daily relationships for a long time!"

Johnny's respect for Buchanan does not go unnoticed, and we are lucky to have you as a mentor here!

Buchanan will donate $50 in your name to your chosen charity of A Mother's Hope

Rigging (Support) - Jason Clemens

Jason was nominated this month for being given the nickname 'Captain Safety' by his coworkers.

Jason always uses the right tool for the job, and he isn't afraid to use the buddy system. He will jump in to help his coworkers and is never ashamed to wear the proper PPE's all while keeping a positive attitude.

His knowledge of the task at hand allows him to make safety a priority.

Jason has worked as a Houston Trailer Mechanic for just shy of a year, and, boy, are we lucky to have him!

When asked why he enjoys working or Buchanan, Jason says:

"I couldn't do it without my crew. We are a team that strives to win it all, and I appreciate everything my team does to be helpful and safe."

Jason's awareness and dedication to the whole team are appreciated!

Buchanan will donate $50 in your name to your chosen charity of Wounded Warriors Foundation.
