Just a few days shy of Valentine's Day, Buchanan participated in the Special Olympics Indiana’s signature fundraiser “the Polar Plunge”! Our team, "Buchanan’s Frosty Fleet" consisting of Randy C., Todd B., and Leslie B., who ran into the freezing water at Metea Park. These employees, and those who backed the cause with a donation, demonstrated their dedication and nerve by lunging into the frigid water during the Splash Bash. We managed to raise $825 for the privilege to participate in this event pushing further into the Special Olympics Indiana’s, or SOI, goal of one million dollars!
SOI is holding more events, each location having its own flair for events held. Some are hosting a costume contest after their Splash Bash, but all events will let you warm up, enjoy refreshments, and receive awards for your fundraising efforts! In the end, all proceeds are going to directly support the roughly 18,000 individuals throughout the state looking to compete, helping with training and other competition opportunities.
