Buchanan understands the impact that proper vehicle maintenance has on the success of a transportation company.  Whether that transportation company is Buchanan Hauling and Rigging or your Owner Operator business, preventative maintenance is key to your success.

The Department Of Transportation has specific requirements that every commercial vehicle must pass.  The DOT can perform an inspection at any given time.  In effort to keep our Buchanan tractors and trailers well maintained the following inspection and service requirements have been established:

  • A Service:  Oil, Filters, Lubrication, Inspection           Every 20,000 Miles
  • B Service: Lubrication, Inspection                                  Every 10,000 Miles
  • DOT Inspection                                                                         Every 120 Days

The above mileages and days are maximums, Not To Exceed.  The services and inspection must be performed prior to these intervals.

Keeping services and repairs up to date and the exhaust system operating efficiently are the primary items to improve the life of the vehicle.  Following these steps will not only increase the life of the vehicle, it will also greatly reduce vehicle maintenance expenses and unexpected breakdowns.  Breakdowns not only cost more in dollars but also cost productivity in lost hours.

In addition, all Buchanan owned equipment needs to be brought into a Buchanan facility every 30 days.  While at a Buchanan facility the next vehicle service can be performed, as needed.

Buchanan Maintenance Facilities are in:

  • Fort Wayne, IN
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Orlando, FL
  • Clute, TX
  • San Antonio, TX
  • Houston, TX (Opening Soon)

All preventive maintenance starts with a pre-trip and post-trip inspection.  Your daily inspections help to keep your equipment operating at its peak efficiency.  And will help to prevent the unwanted breakdown.
